Burial of Roberts cremains will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso.
Robert C. "Bob" Ramsey, 80, of Kappa, passed away at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence.
He was born March 11, 1938 the son of Garland W. and Lula Belle (Mills) Ramsey. He married Barbara Armstrong on December 31, 1969 in Joliet. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Kimberly Sue Ramsey of Bloomington, Clint R. Ramsey of Chenoa, William C. (Michelle) Ramsey of El Paso; one brother Ralph Ramsey of OH; his first wife Margie (Armstrong-Ramsey) Rider of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Kaleb, Chase, Blake, Ian, Kalyn and Deacon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Reba and Sue.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He was an electrician for IBEW Local 51 out of Springfield. He retired after serving for more than 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he enjoyed collecting guns and riding motorcycles. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dog Poopsy.
There will be no formal services held for Robert. Cremation will be accorded. Ruestman-Harris in El Paso is in charge of assisting the family with final arrangements.
Burial of his cremains will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to any veteran's organization or animal shelter of the donor's choice.
