EL PASO- Robert D. Jarrett, 69, of El Paso, IL passed away at 12:05 PM on Friday July 1, 2016 at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center in Normal, IL after a long hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born on July 5, 1946 in Jacksonville, IL a son of Verne and Gladys Ingledue Jarrett. He married Nancy Ritterbusch on December 29, 1973 in Normal, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis (Catherine) Jarrett of Hurst, TX; Jacob Jarrett of Augusta, GA; one brother Don (Cindy) Jarrett of Leawood, KS; one sister, Becky Todd of Jacksonville, IL and one grandchild, Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
He was a meat cutter for 25 years then worked for Mitsubishi in Normal for 20 years before his retirement. He belonged to the UAW Local 2428 and Mitsubishi Motors of North America. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in El Paso and Eagle Scout Troop #113.
His visitation will be held on Monday, July 4, 2016 from 2-4 pm at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church in El Paso. Rev. Jonathan Boehne will officiate. Graveside services will be at 3 PM on Tuesday in Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Preschool, Villa Angela foster home for girls, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
