Colton Collins

Colton Z. Collins, 31, of Gridley, passed away on January 24, 2022, in Putnam County, IL.

He was born August 6, 1990, to Tim and Bonnie (Freed) Collins in Pontiac, IL.  He graduated from El Paso High School in 2009 before studying graphic design at Illinois Central College.  He then moved to San Diego, CA, for several years before returning to the central Illinois area.

Colton most enjoyed hiking and the outdoors, spending time with his dog, Skye, and beating his friends in board games.  He is survived by his mother and father, Tim Collins and Bonnie (Rick Durre) Collins, and his three brothers, TJ (Colee), Brandon (Kayse), and Cody.

Cremation will be accorded.  Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home of El Paso is assisting the family with arrangements.

A casual celebration of life will be held at the Gridley American Legion on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 1 to 5 p.m.  Colton battled with depression for many years, so in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Illinois Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
