Calvin James Kaupp, infant son of Danny and Courtney Kaupp, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 8 at his home in Gridley. Calvin was born with Down's Syndrome and spent the first three weeks of his life in the hospital. His family would like to express their gratitude to all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Advocate Bromenn's Neonatal Unit who worked so hard to love and care for Calvin. Our special thanks to Dr. John Bandy, Calvin's pediatrician and his staff for their loving care. Although Calvin's life was short, he made a huge impact on people, and we are so grateful God gave him to us.
Calvin was born September 14, 2018 to Danny and Courtney Kaupp. His big brother is Cooper, 2 1/2, at home in Gridley. His maternal grandparents are Larry and Sherry Sharp of Normal and paternal grandparents are Tim and Betty Kaupp of Gridley. Calvin is also survived by his aunts: Lindsey (Aaron) Hand, Elise (Paul) Grimm and Lindsay (Burnett) Martin. Also surviving are uncles T.J. (Sarah) Kaupp and Bryan Sharp. His cousins are Judah, Elijah, Shiloh, Silas Grimm and California Kaupp. Calvin was also dearly loved by a host of extended family members. We enjoyed every minute with Calvin and look forward to the time when we will see him again.
The service to celebrate Calvin's life will take place Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 406 W. 7th Street in Gridley with Pastor Andy Huette officiating. Burial will be at the cemetery in Gridley. Additionally, a short visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Ruestman Harris Funeral Home in El Paso is in charge of arrangements.
Calvin's family would like to extend a special thanks to the Gridley emergency medical services for their special efforts.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Calvin Kaupp Memorial Fund for special projects to be determined by his family
