Alice E. Hinthorne, 107, of Eureka, IL formerly of El Paso, IL passed away at 8:15 am on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Maple Lawn Health Care Center. She loved the Lord with all her heart and on this day went home to see Him.
She was born on April 18, 1908 in Kansas Township in Hudson, IL a daughter of William and Clara Hospelhorn Farrell. She married Lewis E. Hinthorne on December 30, 1926 in Bloomington, IL. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, Laverne (Joyce) Hinthorne of El Paso, IL; Larry Hinthorne of Eureka, IL; one daughter, Fern Wilson of Normal, IL; one sister, Ruth Meier of Normal, IL; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and thirteen step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Kevin Hinthorne, one great-grandson Derek Hinthorne, four brothers, and three sisters.
Alice loved music. She played the piano and sang at her 105th birthday party. She was still in the choir at Maple Lawn Health Care Center. Her love for the Lord had her singing His songs right up to the last few minutes of her life. She stated "I'm going to Heaven." She kept very busy in her life working and helping others.
She was a member of the El Paso Nazarene Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Rev. Doane Brubaker will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Hinthorne Cemetery in Hudson, IL.
