Virginia C. Plessner

 

Eureka - Virginia C. Plessner, 89, of Eureka, formerly of Park Ridge, IL and Mountain Home, AR passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Sunday December 18, 2011 at Maple Lawn Health Care Center where she was a resident.

 

Born on February 5, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Emil C. and Alma Henning Wolff, she married Arthur "Pete" Plessner on February 26, 1949 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on July 6, 1982

 

Surviving is one son, Michael (Nancy) Plessner of Glen Arbor, MI; and one grandson Matthew Plessner of Texarkana, Texas.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Otto and Wilbur.

 

As per her wish, cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be held at a later date. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Mike, Nancy, and Matthew- What joy dear Virginia brought into my life and she passed away 6 years to the date and almost to the hour I lost my husband 6 years ago. She was the first neighbor to walk across the street and talk to me, even before John and I moved into our cottage. The cards, crazy outings, phone calls and laughter we shared will be in my heart forever. She was so proud to share that issue of the magazine of your new home and was happy to think of you there as she relived times from her youth and with her dear husband. Perhaps she thought she and Art were going back for a late night dip. What a class act and dear friend! My deepest sympathy to you all...Jane Schieber
