Thelma L. Zehr

Eureka- Thelma L. Zehr, 86, of Eureka passed away at 5:15p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Advocate Eureka Hospital.

She was born on February 10, 1925 in Eureka, IL a daughter of Christian A. and Rose Wagner Schertz. She married Robert Zehr on September 29, 1951 in Washington, IL. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert S.(Joyce) Zehr of Eureka; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Suzanne Zehr; one great grandson, Scott Krone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister.

Thelma worked at General Telephone in the CTI Department. She also helped on the family farm.

She attended Living Faith Fellowship Church at Snyder Village Center in Metamora.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Living Faith Fellowship Church at Snyder Village Center in Metamora. Pastor Brett Woerner will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 5-7p.m. at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Private family burial will be at Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements.

    So sorry to hear of Thelma's passing. I worked with her for years in GTE's CTI department and she was certainly one of my favorite people. She and Bob were a fine couple and I enjoyed their company the very few times we were together visiting.
