Rodney M. Spillman

Minonk- Rodney M. Spillman, 68, of Minonk, IL passed away at 11:30 am on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk, IL. Rev. Ray Barclay will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to OSF Hospice or the Minonk Fire and Ambulance. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.ruestmanharrisfuneralhome.com.

He was born on September 6, 1943 in Bloomington, IL a son of Rodney and Mary Dunn Spillman. He married Phyllis Durre on December 6, 1986 in Minonk, IL. She passed away on May 19, 1997.

Surviving are two daughters, Michele Cioni of Colfax, IL; Amy Cioni of Algonquin, IL; one sister, Liz Alex of Normal, IL; one brother, Ed Spillman of Bloomington, IL; two nephews, Shannon Giarette of Bloomington, IL; Brian Mattson of Germantown Hills, IL; and three grandchildren, Alexis, Emma, and Daniel Jennings all of Colfax, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, Nicholas Jennings.

Rodney retired from Country Companies and later worked at the Minonk Food and Grocery. He was a member of the McLean County Rescue Squad and was a former Minonk Fire Trustee.

He loved to spend time with his family and was an avid photographer and model railroad enthusiast.
