Ralph D. Wagner
Roanoke- Ralph D. Wagner, 78, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully at 8:35 pm on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Snyder Village in Metamora surrounded by his family.
 Ralph was born June 23, 1933 in Washington, IL a son of Halsey and Ollie Nash Wagner. He was raised by his aunt Hattie and Uncle Luther Jackson. He married Jeanette Beer on April 26, 1959 in Roanoke, IL. She survives.
 Also surviving are his three sons, Steve (April) Wagner, Dennis (Cheryl) Wagner both of Roanoke, and David (Shari) Wagner of Germantown Hills, IL; one sister, Lois Larimore; one brother, Bob Wagner; five grandchildren, Christina LaBorde, Ben Wagner, Adrian Wagner, Tami Jumper and Jezzlyn Wagner; four great grandchildren and one expected in Feb. 2012; and many nieces and nephews.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vyrl Wagner and his wife, Berdina; and one niece Lynette Wagner.
 Ralph graduated from Benson High School. He proudly served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and is a member of the Roanoke American Legion Post 463. Ralph worked as a mechanic at Roanoke Motor Company for 22 years and later worked at Roanoke Concrete, Woodford County Highway Department, appointed to the Woodford County Housing Authority, Martin Implement, and Ulrich Manufacturing. In his retirement years he drove cars for Geiser Ford and Roanoke Motor Company.
 Ralph was a very talented with working with wood. He could build anything and loved to make Christmas ornaments and give them away to family and friends. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League of America in Metamora. Ralph was an avid Cubs Baseball fan and would attend many spring training sessions in Phoenix, AZ with his good friend John Legal. Ralph was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to fish, camp and watch Cubs Baseball and NASCAR. Ralph will be missed by all that had the privilege to know and love him.
 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke. Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church Ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the grave.
