KATHY STROINK
Bloomington-Kathy Lynn Stroink, 59,
Bloomington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family
on February 19, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center in Normal
where she had been a resident since December.
Born August 17, 1952, at MacDill
Air Force Base Hospital in Tampa, Florida, Kathy was the eldest
daughter of Robert and Louise Leverenz Totheroh of Wellington,
Illinois. She and her mother spent a year of her early
childhood at Rabat, French Morocco, Africa, where her father was
stationed.
She was educated at Prairie Green
and Wellington schools and graduated from Wellington High School in
1970. Kathy earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in
Psychology from Illinois State University, Normal.
She is survived by her father,
Wellington ; daughter, Lacey Louise Stroink, Bloomington; sister,
Cindy (Eric) Bach, Bloomington; brother, Todd (Anne) Totheroh,
Bloomington; five nieces---Whitney, Taylor, Emma, Grace, and Sophie
Totheroh; and great-niece, Lily Robinson, as well as several aunts,
uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her
mother.
Kathy was employed by Lynn
Cheeseman, CPA in Normal and had previously worked for Terry Romack
Accounting in Bloomington.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Funeral services will be held at Brown-Alkire Funeral Home in
Hoopeston, Illinois, at 11 a.m. on Friday with visitation preceding
at 9:30 a.m. and interment at Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston,
immediately following. Neil Larimore will
officiate.
Kathy always placed her family at
the center of her life. She loved hosting and attending holiday
gatherings where her homemade pies were a big part of the
celebration. She was an avid reader, interested in local and family
history, enjoyed flower gardening, and was a fervent Illini
basketball fan. As a devoted mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and
loyal friend to many, she will be forever missed and lovingly
remembered.
Her family wishes to express their
heartfelt thanks to all of the skilled professionals who were
involved with her care.

Community Cancer Center, Normal, Illinois, The American Cancer
Society, or a charity of the donor's choice.
