Service Date:Funeral service at 10:30 am on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Visitation from 9:30-10:30 am before the service.

Joe D. Schieber

El Paso- Joe D. Schieber, 58, of El Paso, Illinois passed away at 6:45 am on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his residence in El Paso.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Rev. John Heil and Corry Ijams will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am before the service. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery.

 

Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.

 

He was born on May 8, 1954 in Bloomington, IL a son of Vernon D. and Wanda J. Shaw Schieber. He married Theresa Rose on September 15, 1979 in Hudson, IL. She survives.

 

Also surviving are five brothers, Vergil, Darrell (Marilyn O'Neil), Darwin (Jill) Schieber all of El Paso, IL; Roger (Dana) Schieber of Browning, IL; Richard Schieber of Rushville, IL; two sisters, Vernette (Kent) Wagner, Jan (Bill) Rassi both of Roanoke, IL; and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rollie.

 

Joe worked at Bridgestone on the receiving docks where he loaded and unloaded trucks. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union #787 and a member of Truth Tabernacle in Pontiac, IL.

 

Joe loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting.
