Joe Carr

El Paso - Joe Carr, 52, of rural El Paso, passed away at 3:46 am on Sunday December 16, 2012 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal, IL.

He was born on June 19, 1960 in Bloomington, IL to John and Doris L. Potter Carr. He married Terri Hodel on August 18, 1979. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Josh (Julie) Carr of El Paso; Chris Carr of Bloomington; Luke (Allison) Carr of El Paso; two brothers, Thomas (Gladys) Carr of Secor; Tim (Donna) Carr of El Paso; one sister, April Carr of El Paso; two step brothers, Lance (June) White of Worchester, OH; Nathan (Vickey) White of Trenton, IL; many nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Will and Hannah and one on the way; and his dog Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, Richard White, and his nephew Ryan Carr.

Joe was a truck driver for Darnall Concrete in Normal for 26 years. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything. He was known for his mechanical and carpentry skills.

Family and friends came first with Joe. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who was in need. He cherished spending time with his sons, tinkering on their cars and fixing up their houses. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and could always bring a smile to your face.

Joe gave his life to the Lord on September 1, 2010. He attended Community Bible Fellowship Church in El Paso where funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday December 20th. Pastor Wes Ooms will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday December 19th at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery rural El Paso.
