Nancy & Connie, so sorry to hear about your dad. My prayers will be with him, your mother, and the rest of the family. He'll be buried not far from Dad, so I'll say a prayer and hello when I drive by. I do remember your dad from my days at EHS...always friendly and with a smile. I pray your mother is doing well...she's a very neat lady and so blessed to have such a large, loving family. May God be with you all.

Knowing the kindness and love that Tom has in his heart for his family, friends, and strangers is a testament to how he was raised by his mom and dad. Be comforted in that James is at peace and his legacy in his children continues.

Joanne and family, We loved "Mr. Hewitt"! He will always hold a special place in our hearts. He was a wonderful example of a Godly man, showing his strength by living his life for the Lord. He was by far the best church greeter ever! Always greeting with a smile, aiding those who moved a little slow, holding the door for a lady, and giving the young fella's an example of a real hand shake. There is no way to put into words what he has meant to us. Joanne you will be bathed in prayer and I know you will find the comfort of Christ sustaining you until you are reunited with your sweet heart. Aunt JoAnne, Nancy, Bob, Connie, Tim, Tom, and Sherrie, We were so sorry to hear of Uncle Jim's passing. Like you, we will truly miss an amazing person. Such a positive influence on me and Eddie as we were growing up in Eureka. Along with Grandma Hewitt, you two were such a blessing to our Dad in raising two small boys. He was such a quiet listener but always offered fatherly advice, and sometimes some firm direction. I'm so proud that he is a part of me.

Aunt Joanne and Family, I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Jim's passing. My family's visits to your big white house when I was growing up are cherished memories of mine. Though I didn't know him well, I remember Uncle Jim as a man with a quiet but keen sense of humor, and a smile ever on his face. I know he also played a part in helping to raise my Dad. I know my Dad to be a good and loving man, and I will be forever grateful to Uncle Jim for the example he gave of what a man and a father should be for his family and friends. I pray for comfort for you all, the loved ones he has left behind - John 6:39-40 "And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

Miss Joanne and family, Words can't begin to tell you how much I love your family. From the moment we came through the doors at LBC, you all were some of the first who welcomed us and then took us in as your own family. You & Mr. Jim always made me feel loved and appreciated. I will always remember Mr. Jim "picking" on me when I was a teenager but it let me know that I was important. You were both some of the first who always welcomed me "home" when I came back from school for visits. I will never ever forget Mr. Jim and how he had a servant's heart. He would do anything and everything for anyone. There are not very many people in the world like that. Thank you for giving me (and Craig) a good and godly example of what a marriage should be. Mr. Jim left behind a great legacy in his family and I am thankful to have known and called him a friend. It grieves me greatly that I am not able to come home to be there and give you all a hug in person. I am praying for you that God will sustain you & give you peace. I know you are sad and missing him greatly already, but I know that we will all see him again some day in Heaven. I am so thankful for that hope. Love you so much, Leesha and Craig

Another soldier for Christ has made it home! It is times like this that serve as a reminder of how Heaven is getting sweeter all the time! Jim has finished/won the race; his faith is now SIGHT - what wonders he's viewing and experiencing at this very moment! We'll have a grand reunion someday with our loved ones and friends that have arrived there before us! We have such fond memories with y'all! Know that the whole Hewitt family is in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. We know Jim will be greatly missed. It's sweet to know the separation is only temporary. Luv y'all!
