Hilda K. Bruch

Bloomington- Hilda K. Bruch, 88, of Bloomington, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Sugar Creek Alzheimer Special Care Center in Normal.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday June 8, 2012 at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center or Sugar Creek Alzheimer Special Care Center in Normal. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.

Hilda was born October 23, 1923 in Dusseldorf, Germany to Gustav and Karoline (Pillath) Kofbinger. She came to the United States after marrying Joseph T. Bruch on January 1, 1952 in Germany. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1990.

She is preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by one brother, Heinz (Brigetta) Kofbinger of Herzberg, Germany; great friends, Hila Ferguson, Pam Carlton, Nooni Hoselton and family, and Peter Estes.

She began her career in the hair industry as a stylist at Richard Beauty Salon, Inc. in Normal, later opening her own salon, The Fashion Plate in Bloomington.

During her married life, Joseph and Hilda enjoyed Lakeside Country Club, and entertaining the many employees of Fashion Plate for holidays, and special occasions. Hilda bowled and played golf in her free time away from her successful salon. Hilda and Joseph enjoyed frequent trips to Vanderbilt Beach in Naples, Florida.

Hilda's cheerful spirit and energy will be missed by all. Family and friends much appreciate the loving care Hilda received at Sugar Creek.

    I worked for Hilda at Fashion Plate. She was a wonderful boss and great friend. Although I have been away for many years I will never forget all she did for me. She will be missed by all.
