Sparland
Edna Louise Emmons, 87, of Sparland passed away at 4:06 a.m. on
Saturday January 14, 2012 at Proctor Hospital. She was born
on July 8, 1924 to the late Willard and Anna Mae (McQuinn)
Freeman.
She is survived by three sons; Jim (Sarah) Emmons, of Lacon,
Jerry Emmons, of Lacon, and John Emmons, of Sparland; one brother,
Robert Freeman; one sister Mary Ann (Henry) Lanterman, of Indigo,
CA; two grandchildren, Janel and Matthew Emmons; and one
great-grandchild, Ayla Mae.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia; five
brothers; and three sisters.
Edna worked as a CNA in long-term health care; she was employed
by Parkhill for over 10 years. She was a loving mother
and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Edna loved
to play Bunco, tend to her strawberry patch, collect angels, and
garden. She was devoted to her pets Blue and Kitty.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday
January 17, 2012 at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. The Reverend
Wendy Popp will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior
to the services. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception
Cemetery in Lacon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to L-S Rescue 52 or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Online
