Military rites will be accorded by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard at the church. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington and one hour prior to the service at the church. |
Delmar C. Hospelhorn
Carlock-Delmar C. Hospelhorn, 90, of Carlock passed
away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 8:57 am at Meadows Mennonite
Retirement Home in Rural Chenoa. Funeral services will be held at 1
pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at East White Oak Bible Church
in Carlock with Rev. Larry Van Gundy and Rev. Steven Smith
officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the
Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard at the church.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington and one hour
prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Hudson
Cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to
East White Oak Bible Church directed towards missions, or to
Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home in Delmar's name.
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling
arrangements.
Delmar was born on September 25,
1921 in Hudson, IL a son to Floyd and Floy (Smith) Hospelhorn. He
married Lucy Troyer on January 27, 1946 in Carlock, IL and she
survives.
In addition to his wife Lucy, Delmar is survived by his
children: son: Gary (Mary) Hospelhorn of Winnebago, IL, son: Paul
(Doris) Hospelhorn of Scottsdale, AZ, daughter: Helen (Dan) Ward of
Woodinville, WA, son: Keith(Sue) Hospelhorn of Normal, IL;
grandchildren: Lyn Tomlinson, Lee Hospelhorn, Brian Ward, Brent
Hospelhorn, Jenna Lane, Doug Hospelhorn, Bethany Ward, Adam
Hospelhorn, Jason Hospelhorn; great-grand children: Jacob
Tomlinson, Emily Tomlinson, Samuel Ward, Troy Hospelhorn, Benjamin
Ward, Sophia Hospelhorn, Aubrey Lane, Brock Hospelhorn; two
brothers: Raymond and Edwin Hospelhorn both of Sun City, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers:
Donald and Clarence Hospelhorn.
He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World
War II. Technical Sergeant Hospelhorn served as a Flight Engineer
on B-17's participating in 29 missions over the European
Theater.
Delmar farmed in rural Carlock for 57 years, retiring in 2008.
He will be remembered as a hard worker who had a great love for
farming and his Country.
He was a member of East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock, and
The McLean County Farm Bureau.
Delmar was a resident at Meadows Mennonite Home for the last
31/2 years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to
the wonderful staff in the Alzheimer's Unit at Meadows for their
wonderful care and concern for Delmar throughout his stay.
