Clydie Tate
Eureka-Clydie M. Tate, 86, of Eureka, passed away at 7:27 pm on
Saturday December 31, 2011 at Washington Christian Village where
she was a resident.
She was born on January 11, 1925 in Humbolt, TN to James Clyde
and Lillie E. Blankenship Elam. She married James Tate on July 27,
1953 in Corinth, Mississippi. He died on March 2, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, A. Collette Tibbs; Mary (Ronnie)
Hasty both of Eureka; one son, Jim (Julie) Tibbs of Roanoke; 5
grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son,
Eugene, one brother and one sister.
During WWII Clydie was a "Rosie the Riveter" where she worked in
the ship yards as a welder building battleships for the war.
A homemaker, Clydie enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, playing
bingo, and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday January 5,
2012 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Pastor Doug
Hicks will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday
at the funeral home. Burial will be at Olio Township Cemetery.

Hospital in Memphis, TN.
