Barbara Tweddale
Eureka- Barbara Jean Christie Tweddale, 79, of Eureka, IL,
passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Apostolic
Christian Home of Eureka where she was a resident.
She was born on November 7, 1932 in Schenectady, New York
to Harry James and Marion Lord Christie. She married Kenneth
Shea on November 16, 1957. He died in 1970. She later
married John F. Tweddale on July 7, 1973. He died in
1998.
Surviving are three brothers, Harry (Lynn) Christie of
Charlton, NY; Bruce Christie of Scotia, NY; Douglas Christie of Ft.
Lauderdale, FL; and one step -daughter, Lynne Watkins of
Peoria,IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one step -
son, Jack R. Tweddale.
Barbara was a legal secretary and retired from the law
firm of Brown, Hay & Stephens in Springfield, IL. She was
a member of the Eureka Christian Church, Kaufman Park Ladies League
and the 4-G club in Eureka.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service
and burial of ashes (in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka) will be
held at a later date. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in
Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements.
