Sandra Kay Tipsord Bloomington- Sandra Kay Tipsord, 64, of Bloomington, passed Friday, May 7, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10-11AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Memorials to the Humane Society of Central Illinois 423 Kays Dr., Normal, IL 61761 or to CISAR 29738 E 1400 N Rd., Colfax, IL 61728 are respectfully requested. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home handled arrangements. Sandra was born September 20, 1945 in Bloomington, a daughter of William O. and Mildred Marie Rohde Sallade. She worked at Heritage Manor for forty-one years as a nurses aide and later as a housekeeper before she retired. Sandra loved flowers and gardening, she loved animals, especially her long haired Chihuahua “Lilly Rose”, and loved going to Ft. Madison, IA for the rodeo; an annual trip she made with family and friends for many, many years. On May 16, 1969, Sandra married Gary Tipsord and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2003. Sandra is survived by a brother Jack L. Sallade of Bloomington, a sister Patricia L. Daugherty of LeRoy; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many other relatives and friends and her “baby”, Lilly Rose. In addition to her husband Gary, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, LaVonne Hutchison and Linda Sue Gawthorp.
