Ruth D. Vogel El Paso-Ruth D. Vogel, 86, of 253 E. Fifth St., El Paso passed away at 4:00 AM on December 27, 2010 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, El Paso. Father Roger Corpus O.S.B. will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, El Paso. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso with rosary recital at 7:00 P.M.. Mrs. Vogel was born September 12, 1924 at Minonk a daughter of William and Elizabeth Gollon Cabal. She married Gilbert C. Vogel on June 24, 1944 at Benson. He survives. Other survivors include a son; Gary (Sandy) Vogel, of Bloomington; three grandchildren; Ryan (Jennifer) Vogel, Congerville, Ashlei (Brad) Stare, Elgin, Troy Tegard, El Paso; three great grandchildren: Colin, Kira, and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Marcia, three brothers and three sisters. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and a Charter Member of the El Paso VFW Auxiliary. Ruth was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends. She loved playing cards, needlework and making floral arrangements as gifts. She gave freely of her time and her heart. She was her husband’s best buddy and will be sadly missed by all.
