Hazel Dorothy Fillmore It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Mother, Hazel Dorothy Fillmore. She died on March 26, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA. Cremation rites have been accorded and private inurnment will take place at Zion-Bishop Cemetery in Towanda, IL. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home is helping the family with local arrangements. She leaves behind her children, Wanda Kennedy (Jack) of Fort Myers, FL, Jay Fillmore (Laura) of Bourbonnais, IL, Carolyn Ream (Jim) of Yuma, AZ, daughter-in-law Rita Fillmore of Sebring, FL, Sue Durda (John) of Oxnard, CA, Sandy Warfield (Dan) of Mechanicsburg, PA. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, too numerous to mention. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Loren W. Fillmore whom she married in 1936, and her son, Norman R. Fillmore. Hazel was born on August 9, 1916. She lived a good full life on earth and has now entered into the presence of Almighty God through our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 Our mother was special to all of us and we will miss her greatly. The family would like to thank all of those who cared for her; the staff of doctors and nurses that attended her daily at Community Memorial Hospital; the Palliative Team (you were incredible), and Dr. Newton Friedman and his office. And finally a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Richardson and his office for always finding a way to see her when she was ill and the tenderness with which you always treated her; that meant so much to her and to us.
