My condolences on the loss of your mother. We were neighbors on Walnut St many years ago. I still remember getting ice cold chocolate milk in little cardboard containers out of the cooler in your backyard...with your mom's approval of course. Later on I was surprised to find her working at Walmart, but she loved it and would stop to visit every chance she had. She was an amazing woman I was honored to know.

So sorry to hear about Edith. She was a wonderful neighbor. Every weekend when the kids and I would visit my Mom (Christie Ruestman), Cali would see Edith out sitting on her step and she would insist we go visit her since "that was the lady that gave me cookies and stickers". Cali adored Edith and we will definitely miss her across the street. Our prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

We live in Pontiac and always enjoyed talking to Edith while we were there. We actually would checkout at the garden center just to see her. She was alwyas so pleasant and friendly. Never got frustrated. We just loved her!!!! She wasa jewel! We were so surprised to see that she had passed. I'm sure she has a smile on her face right now and is looking down at all of us. It just wont be the same at Walmart the next time we visit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Scott, Linda and Leo, My heart hurt when I heard about your Mom. She was a very special lady. There are several words to describe her, but the first to come to mind are ... KIND and CARING. She was always happy to share her homemade cookies and her beautiful blankets she crocheted for our two grandchildren. Cali (our Granddaughter, 16 months old) loved to go to Edith's house on the weekends and visit. Of course, the cookies and hugs were an added bonus. Instead of flowers at the cemetery, Cali and I will make sure Edith gets a cookie from time to time. I have no doubt that those "pearly gates" in heaven will be polished everyday and the flowers will be beautiful. They now get to enjoy our Edith as much as we did. We are very thankful we had the pleasure of knowing her and having her as our friend and neighbor. She is and will be a part of our family memories forever!!! Let the happy memories help you through these very sad times. Love, Christie (Ketchmark) Ruestman

I'm so sorry to hear of Ediths passing. She made trips to Walmart worth going. I have never met a more outgoing and friendly person that always made you smile. She was the reason we always used the lawn and garden door. She will be greatly missed. I'm sorry for the void your family must be dealing with. I will always smile when I think of her. God bless.
