BYRON I. GRESHAM Congerville - Byron I. Gresham, 78, of Bloomington, formerly of Congerville, died at 11:32 am on Sunday September 24, 2006 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal. He was born January 15, 1928 in Woodford County, IL to Harley and Gertrude Irons Gresham. He married Norma L. Neuhauser on August 5, 1961 in Roanoke, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Deb (Phil) Ferguson of Bloomington; Denise (Mark) Tornberg of Huntersville, NC; one brother, Robert Gresham of Laguna Woods, CA; one sister, Muriel (Al) Garber of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Ferguson, and Jonathan and Matthew Tornberg. He was preceded in death by his parents. Byron farmed all of his life in the Congerville area. In addition, he managed Kaiser Agri Chemical in Covell for 20 years, retiring in 1985. Byron was a member of Eastview Christian Church where he was active in the Eastview Spirit Lifters. He was an Army veteran and served as past president of the Eureka District 140 School Board. He was a member of the Soil Conservation Board, Local Train Collector’s Club in Bloomington, Golden K Kiwanis Club of Normal and was a volunteer at BroMenn Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Eastview Christian Church in Normal. The Rev. Gary York and Rev. Jim Smiley will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and from 9-10:45 AM on Thursday at the church. Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Eastview Christian Church Building Fund. He willingly served his church and community and always had time for his friends.
