Annette Grendel

Roanoke- Annette L. Grendel, 88, of Roanoke, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday June 24, 2012 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.

She was born on January 7, 1924 in Benson, IL to George and Reka Behrens Kruse. She married Fredrick C. Grendel on September 24, 1950 in Roanoke, IL. He passed away on April 9, 1995.

Annette is survived by one nephew, Alan (Susie) Rients of Minonk; two nieces, Karen (Mark) Bellot of Joliet; Sharon (Nelson) Blunier of Pekin; and seven great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen Rients.

Annette was a member of the Roanoke American Legion Auxiliary.

Family, friends and church came first with Annette. She was a wonderful sweet lady who will be missed by all who knew her.

Annette was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke where funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday. The Rev. Scott Adel will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Roanoke Township Cemetery. Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke is in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to thank the Roanoke Apostolic Nursing Home for the care that Annette received. They would also like to thank Bev Micheletti for being a helpful, loving neighbor to Annette over the years.
